Somalia government is not happy HRW rape allagetions by AMISOM Soldiers

Somali premier Abdi-wali Sheikh Hassan stated that the government is orchestrating to investigate the reported sexual abuse by the AMISOM forces according to human rights watch report on the concern which is released on Monday.

The Federal government is denouncing any violations against its citizens and is committed to check over those accusations through the right channels “Premier told reporters in Mogadish.

“Our institutions are seeking justice for the sufferers and we will take necessary measures towards the matter “the PM added. AMISOM abused and exploited venerable women in the capital and its outskirts human rights watch said on the report.

Somali government has called AMISOM operation contributing countries to partake the upcoming investigations, which the government sees as an important stride. AMISOM declined these allegations.

 “Some African Union soldiers have misused their positions of power to exploit Somalia’s most vulnerable women and girls,” said Liesl Gerntholtz, women’s rights director at Human Rights Watch
